I know this will sound crazy, but last year I nearly lost my *** ....

I was hit with bad news of getting the big "C"...with the wife and I expecting our 3 rd child, my son...

Well went through it all, even with great insurance, I still had to pay out of pocket for a miriad of things. I ended up cashing in my 401k, and our other savings fund, approx about 60k..... Still have about 6k I owe to go. By Feb it will be all gone.

Well, the wife had my son, I was declared I was in remission a year ago has a few scares since then and now, but manageable.

I have felt that I am doing a lot better now than I was last year. I was cleaned out , so my losses which were nil, since my saving/retirement account were wiped out, so i have felt my illness was timed right. I feel for a lot of people who have lost their ***** , but I laugh at a few of the young ones who were running around screaming,, I tried to explain to them, that they, like myself , are young, (32 here), and we stil lhave a lot of time....I am not counting myself out yet.

But with my purchases , I weigh them a little bit more carefully now, than I did before. So now , I am in a sell, sell, sell mode till I get enough to get a set of 604's....

The $500 19's fell through, the guy did not email back and he has since removed the posting from craigslist... Oh well just used that towards knocking of some more debt just now..

On Australian ebay TWO Western Electric WE24A horns with WE19A throat adapters(no drivers) sold for $US6400 EACH - about $AUS9400. Was this a bargain?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It does not sound crazy at all. In fact, I can relate to you. I too had a close call year and a half ago. It is an ongoing situation for me too. I have to take handful of medicines each day. And believe it or not, I had my third child/a son 5 months ago. So far we survived. Money can come and go. Speakers come and go. But life goes on. Let's hang in there. We have a lot to live for. Somebody has to carve those turkeys on Thanksgiving. My prayer is with you.

Chris, I have to give you a couple of attaboys... the first one is obvious, for your outstanding attitude. The second for your ability to save... heck, I'm 50, and I've never been able to save up 6 thou, much less 60.

One of my long-held philosophies finally gelled into words today;

We are clearly a diverse but great group of folks eh?
I'm surprised to hear that $26K is a decent wage. I could survive on that, but would give up nearly all my life style.

Carl Bill, I work for Tektronix.....things are changing fast.
Obama won't save us, nor would any president. They aren't in this alone.
Odd times for sure.....may we all make it through the next year or so.
